Aqua Dulce

Me and Chance just made it to Aqua Dulce yesterday afternoon, the 454.9 mile mark. We made it up Baden Powell, which was supposed to be difficult, but it proved to be challenging, but not as dangerous as people made it out to be. Anyhow, we have been rolling with Roo, Happy Feet, and Kara-boo for a few days, they are a great group. We lost them yesterday in Little Rock, at the station detour, because we walked/hitched on PearBlossum Road.
This area is beautiful, the devils punch bowl was amazing, especially the swimming hole. Life is good, especially since we are working our way to Mojave. I am a bit scared of the Sierras, I still have to research my resupplies.
Anyhow, I am signing off, but I will update soon.

265 Miles and Big Bear Lake!

Hey Folks,

It has been difficult to keep in touch with you all, and I apologize about that. But part of the reason I am out here is to leave the computer screen and phone behind. It seems everyone has a blackberry or an iphone, which they are constantly using.

Anyhow, I am in Big Bear Lake, zeroing at the hostel. Just picked up a book by Edward Abbey, which is exciting, I don't believe I have read any of his books before.
The sad news is that Arren aka Princess Moonburn is heading back to Portland today. Grad school has taken him from us, so if you see grad school walking down the street, throw some poo at them. Eww...school.

Best of luck brother, you will never know how much it meant that you started this adventure. Good luck with you own Danish adventure, and until we meet again.

On the Hike for Haiti side of things, I got two new sponsors, thanks you Lance and Mr. Anonymous.

I am not sure how much I have talked about this on my blog, but I have this loosely knit post hiking plans. This is all a big IF. So I have been sending these random clipping from magazines to Surly Bikes to see if they will sponsor me. This hopefully will be a product sponsorship in the form of a Long Haul Trucker.

I want to ride that said bike south from Manning Park/Seattle to San Diego. I then want to sail south in the Baja Ha Ha Rally. http://www.baja-haha.com/

So, that is the romantic plan, if I get to Cabo San Lucas, then I don't know what will be next, but that is the fun part. Maybe some scuba on the Baja? Who knows?

153 Miles and Zero Day Baby!!

Well,

A small update, Chance, Princess Moonburnt, and I pulled into Idyllwild CA yesterday afternoon. We decided not to do the devils slide trail and just take on a extra days of food. Tomorrow we head up Fullers Ridge, which has snow and ice, and from what we have been told can be quite dangerous if the conditions are not right. So other then that, Arren aka Moonburnt is getting off the trail in Big Bear, he is going back to Portland to raise funds for his Copenhagen adventure. The best of luck brother.

Anyhow, loving the hiking life, the PCT has proven to be more beautiful then I thought. The desert is quieting my thoughts, and healing my heart..... :)
